Blake's Cider Mill

This weekend we went to Blake's Cider Mill and we had perfect fall weather!  Katelyn was very excited to go apple picking again, as well as have cider and doughnuts and do all of the fun things at the cider mill.  Her legs were actually long enough to pedal the bikes this year, and she climbed to the top of the straw hill.  She still wasn't a fan of the skeletons that talked...maybe next year!

First Day of Ballet!

Last night was Katelyn's first night of ballet!  She was excited to put her "teetard" (leotard) on as early as possible and pose for a few pictures before Matt took her to Faith's so they could go to class together.

First Trip of the Year!

Today we took our first of many trips to the apple orchard.  We had a beautiful day for it.  Katelyn loves picking (and eating) apples off the trees.  We also enjoyed cider and doughnuts, which I have been wanting for a few weeks now!  Katelyn also had a great time playing in the hay.  Stay tuned for more pictures of our many visits to cider mills and orchards!  This is my favorite time of the year!

Fall is on the way!

Since we got a taste of Fall this weekend, I decided to make applesauce with Katelyn, like I used to do with my class each year when I taught.  She actually did a great job chopping the apples!

After we peeled and chopped the apples, Katelyn added the sugar, water and cinnamon to the apples in the crock pot and stirred it all together.
Next, we let it cook in the crock pot for a few hours and enjoyed the smell of our house! Finally after dinner it was ready and we were able to try it!

First Soccer Game!

Today was Katelyn's first soccer game of the fall season.  Their team is the Yellow Bumblebees.  Katelyn was excited she scored a goal for the team, although her favorite part is being with her friend Ava.  Thankfully, we have a much better coach this season, who is actually teaching them some soccer skills!
