Fun at Kalahari

Well, we just took our last trip as a family of 3!  We went to Kalahari, at Katelyn's request, over Matt's winter break.  She just loves the water!  This year she was really into the "big pool", or the wave pool.  She loved swimming in the pool without the waves, and couldn't wait for the alarm to go off signaling that the waves were coming.  She would even listen for it when she was in the children's area and wanted to run over to the pool to enjoy the waves.  She still is not a fan of the big bucket that dumps water, and wanted to avoid that area.  She was also more than excited to have her smoothie before heading back to the room at night.
Surprisingly at 34+ weeks pregnant I help up well with all the of the walking and even did some swimming in the lazy river myself!!

Worries of a 4 year old

In the car yesterday, Katelyn was asking a few more questions about what will happen when the new baby comes.  After I explained a few things to her, she began to start asking the "serious" questions....She wanted to know if the Easter Bunny would remember to bring Ella an Easter basket.  I assured her that the Easter Bunny would remember.  Katelyn told me IF he forgot, that she would share her basket with the baby.  She also let me know that she would be sharing the eggs that the Easter Bunny left, and would help the baby open the eggs since she didn't think she would be able to do that.  I told her that was very nice, and she told me, "well, I am going to be a big sister you know!"   She then started asking if the baby would be able to talk by next Christmas, and I told her maybe just a few words.  She then told me that she would make sure and tell Santa what Ella wanted for Christmas so that she had gifts to open as well.
I wish that was all I had to worry about!!

Valentine's Day Party

On Thursday Katelyn had her first Valentine's Day party at preschool.  She was very excited to pick out her princess valentines and candy to go with them.  She was even more excited to write her name on all of the Valentines for her friends.  She wanted to do the whole box, but luckily I was able to stop her at 15.  I was able to help out in her classroom that morning for the party. I brought in sugar cookies, frosting and sprinkles and another mom brought in the juice.  The kids were able to decorate their cookie and eat it for snack.  Then the kids sat on the floor and took turns passing out their Valentines to each of their friends.
After the party, we came home and Katelyn's friend Ava came over.  Her mom (Andrea) brought over a great Valentine's lunch for the kids along with some delicious cupcakes!!  The girls had a great time!!
