Today Katelyn and her cousins went to the K of C Halloween party. We had hot dogs, chips, and pop, and the kids had a costume parade and went trick or treating around the K of C. Katelyn won first prize for the best costume in her age group, and Andrew took 3rd place for his group. Katelyn won a lovely bag of chalk that she was more than pleased with!

Tiring Thursday!
Thursday morning kicked off with volunteering at Katelyn's preschool Halloween party. I was able to come in for an hour and volunteer with their party of apple juice and doughnuts as well as a few games. They also had a class costume parade and did a performance of a few songs and rhymes. I really think the teacher has her hands full with all the boys in the class!
After school, we hurried home to get the house ready for the Halloween party we were hosting at our house for Katelyn's other group of friends. They kids and moms had a great time talking, eating lunch, decorating pumpkins and cookies!
Thursday is also ballet class, and I was able to go into the class to watch Katelyn do ballet. It was quite interesting watching almost 20 3 and 4 year olds try to do ballet!

Is it Halloween Yet?!
This weekend we continued out month long celebration of Halloween by starting out the weekend at the St. Sebastian Boo Bash. Katelyn was really excited to dress up (again) and go to a Halloween party at her school. They have trick-or-treating, games, pumpkin painting and a DJ. Katelyn loved dancing to the music. On Saturday Katelyn and I hosted our first Halloween party for half of her friends. The kids had a great time painting pumpkins, decorating cookies, playing pin the nose on the pumpkin and doing crafts. After the party, we rushed off to the Zoo Boo that evening. Halloween can not come soon enough so we can get a break until our Christmas festivities begin in mid-November!

Disney Princesses on Ice
This weekend we took Katelyn to see the Princesses on Ice. She was excited she got to dress up in her princess costume, and even more excited to get a snow cone and share popcorn! She loved the show (except for the fireworks, wicked queens, etc.) I have no clue why she is so afraid of certain things!!
Enjoying her $20 popcorn and snowcone! |

First Field Trip
On Friday Katelyn and I went on her first field trip for school to Plymouth Orchards. Katelyn had a great time riding on the school bus. When we got to the orchard, the kids first listened to a demonstration on how to pick apples and how apples grow on trees. After that we loaded the wagons and went out to pick an apple from the tree and pick a pumpkin as well. We then ate lunch and had cider and doughnuts, and were given way too much time to look at the animals at the farm and run around. It was starting to get very warm out and the kids were getting hot and exhausted. at 1:00 we finally boarded the bus back to school. Katelyn had a great time with her friends, as was even more excited to see her friend Ava there with her class as well! I am glad we had such great weather!

Last soccer game
Thursday was Katelyn's last soccer game of the season. Since they had so many games rained out, they only got to play about 6 games. They hadn't played in almost 2 weeks and were about bit rusty. They usually have a great team and score a ton of goals, Katelyn is never pleased if she scores less than 3. Well, tonight was not their night. Katelyn and Ava didn't score any goals, and the coaches son was held to only one goal (usually he scores the most). The other team hardly let them kick the ball down the field. Even though they lost, they were still excited to get their trophies!

Huckleberry Railroad
Last night we met friends at the Huckleberry Railroad for our first Halloween event of the season. Despite the rain, cold weather and MUD we had a great time! The 40 minute train ride was fun for the kids.. it was inside, warm and we had a whole train car to ourselves! After the train ride we went trick-or-treating at 20 stops throughout the village. Needless to say, I ate a lot of candy last night. The last stop had cider and doughnuts as well as a (cheesy) magic show. I will definitely add this to our yearly Halloween fun!
